Healing will not take place unless you permit it

Healing permission is the first and most important step on any journey of healing; you cannot progress without giving it, or, for that matter, for a healer to channel healing to receiving it.  This seemingly easy step could be the most challenging to some people. Recovering addicts know that the first steps to recovery is to acknowledge the problem and embracing the desire to heal. It is this deep desire across all elements of yourself to heal that is the healing permission I refer to. Before diving deeper into this subject that becomes a little controversial, I will let you know that I believe we do come into this world having chosen to accept certain ‘afflictions’ that will teach us something and thus the affliction in itself becomes a conduit for healing. It is one of the many paradoxes of life. Hence, not all illnesses are meant to be healed, but some are meant to be tools to heal.

Energy healing works on a different plane, the etheric (or energy) body and it is on this level that permissions are requested and refused or granted. In my experience a client might outwardly express that they want to be healed, but at the subconscious level they are not ready and will not permit it. In those cases, it does not matter what we do in terms of healing or other remedies, healing will not take place. It is part of our free will that we have on the earth plane.

Many times when a client does not want to give healing permission, consciously and/or subconsciously, it is because they identify so strongly with their predicament that in order to give it up would be to give up a part of their identity; what needs to be healed is ‘protected’ by the ego and that part of the ego needs to broken down before permission will be granted.. I tried to give up smoking for many years and one thought that would come in to my head, can you believe it, was, “I can’t quit smoking, what if cannot experience the satisfaction of nicotine in other healthy ways?”. Our minds will do a right number on us to prevent us from feeling gooood. Side note: After I discovered that I could heal and got underway, I could see the nicotine addiction for what it was and quitting was relatively easy, no nicotine after November 2017 :-).

Clearly there are varying degrees of difficulty and severity for any given person to grant healing permission. If you are suffering from a severe psychological condition or long-term addiction, or some thing else, that is deeply rooted, you will have so much mental clutter to dig through just to break through with healing permission, that it might never happen. This is where modern medicine class these afflictions as conditions, i.e. permanent. Some native American, Australian and other indigenous tribes don’t even recognise mental illness as an condition, to them it is an imbalance that just needs to be corrected. I am not going to take stance in that discussion, but it is something to think about. The bottom line is that healing permission needs to be given for healing to take place.

The key, I have found in my work and in my own healing process, is to mentally step away from yourself and observe, to determine if you are ready to be healed. If you find that you aren’t you will also find out why and then you can deal with it. If you’ve reached the former point you have at least made a conscious choice to heal, which is a leap in the right direction. I wasn’t ready for the longest time, mainly because I refused to acknowledge that I could be healed. I had to be shown what was possible for me to start the process. Every journey is different and the level of suffering is judged from one’s own perspective. Also, as pointed out at the end of the first paragraph, sometimes you aren’t meant to heal, but to embrace and learn from your illness, i.e. be at peace. Hence, in hindsight, I wouldn’t judge my suffering as sever as many others, but while you are in the midst of it, your perception is that few has it worse than you.

Timing is everything, when a person with deep wounds, i.e. illness (mental or physical), addiction or any other affliction that rules ones life, is ready to heal and change then healing permission is granted and the transformation can begin. As always we have two choices when facing a situation; to change it or, if we can’t, fully accept and embrace it.

I wish you a truly healing day!
